Athletes Chill Out at River Safari
On June 2nd, 2015, Citibank Singapore hosted a retreat for our para athletes to relieve stress from their hectic training schedules and prepare themselves for the 8th ASEAN Para Games 2015. The retreat was held at the River Safari Singapore, home to one of the world’s largest collections of freshwater animals and threatened species.
At the River Safari, Citibank volunteers and para athletes had a walk-through around the exhibits and were able to get up close and personal with the animals. This was under the guidance of the River Safari staff who also provided educational insights on the importance of protecting fragile freshwater ecosystems and endangered species.
Throughout the retreat, Citibank volunteers had the opportunity to interact with the para athletes, gaining a deeper understanding their adversity and training journey leading up to the games. Further from this engagement, Citibank Singapore has also raised funds for the Singapore National Paralympic Council (SNPC).
We would like to express our gratitude towards Citibank Singapore for hosting the retreat of which 70 athletes and volunteers enjoyed their time at the River Safari.
