Dr Teo-Koh Sock Miang has been re-elected unopposed as President of the Singapore National Paralympic Council (SNPC) for a second consecutive term, following the Council’s 18th Annual General Meeting held today.
Following her re-election, Dr Teo-Koh said: “I am deeply honoured by the trust and confidence placed in me to continue serving as President of SNPC. We have made important strides in growing the Paralympic Movement in Singapore, and our focus now is to build on that momentum by strengthening support for our para athletes, raising their visibility and creating greater opportunities for para sport to thrive. I look forward to working closely with our athletes, members, corporate partners and the wider community to further advance the Paralympic Movement in Singapore and build a more inclusive sporting landscape in Singapore.”
As part of the new Management Board, Mr Low See Lien and Mr Gary Chong will take on the roles of Vice President, succeeding Mr Ho Cheng Kwee and Ms Monique Heah. Ms Heah will continue to serve on the Management Board as Assistant Honorary Treasurer, while Mr Ho will step down from the Board.
SNPC extends its sincere appreciation to Mr Ho for his dedicated service and contributions as Vice-President during his tenure. His commitment and guidance have supported SNPC’s continued development and its efforts to advance the Paralympic Movement and para sport in Singapore. The new Management Board also welcomes three new members – Ms Suzana Soo (Singapore Disability Sports Council), Ms Valerie Oh (Equestrian Federation Singapore) and Ms Clare Ferguson (Wheelchair Rugby Association Singapore).
Looking ahead, the new Management Board will continue to strengthen athlete development and support, expand opportunities for participation in para sport, deepen partnerships across the community and corporate sectors, and raise the visibility and recognition of Singapore’s para athletes and the Paralympic Movement.
The new term comes as SNPC continues to build on the growing momentum of para sport in Singapore, focusing on enabling para athletes to pursue sporting excellence while harnessing the power of sport to inspire greater inclusion across society.
