Just 2 days after winning a Bronze, Laurentia clinched a Silver medal in the Grade 1a Individual Freestyle Test, with a score of 79.00%.. Singapore’s other equestrian athlete, Gemma scored 65.80% in the same event. With that, the Equestrian competitions are now officially over. Well done!
Our swimmer, Pin Xiu swam her first competition in the 100m Freestyle S3 category, and managed to secure a position in the Finals. Facing a formidable field of swimmers, she finished 4th in the Finals, with a timing of 2:09.41min – this was her season’s best timing. She will be competing again on 7th September 2012 for the 50m Freestyle S3 category. Her comrade, Theresa will be competing on 8th September in the 100m Freestyle S5 category swim. In Boccia, Nurulasyiqah made her first appearance at the ExCel Centre today for her first seeding match for the Mixed Individual BC3 Category. She played against Cronin Johnny from Ireland, but lost with a close score of 4-6. She will be competing against Canadian athlete, Martino Monica in her next match.
The Sailing team is still competing in the remaining races, and has currently accumulated a score of 57 points, with 3 more races to go.
Minister of State, Ministry of Trade and Industry, Mr. Teo Ser Luck visited our contingent at the Paralympic Village and watched the Equestrian competitions.
