Job Position:              Secretary General

Work Type:               Permanent

Reporting to:             SNPC Board of Governors

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

As Secretary General, you will shape and drive the realisation of new strategic movement, corporate strategies and work plans for SNPC. You will play a key role in promoting and sustaining the Paralympic Movement and transformation efforts. This involves the following:

  • Leading SNPC Transformation

To lead the SNPC Transformation project by working with the Taskforce, and coordinating with relevant sports agencies and stakeholders. The Secretary General has to drive the transformation and ensure that the transformation timeline is met, and changes are in accordance to the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) guidelines while complying with legal regulations in Singapore.

  • Partnership Development and Fundraising

Managing our Partner Relationships and developing new Partnerships and Sponsors. The role involves identifying Partners which share the same agenda as SNPC, co-creating an activation plan while maintaining a fundraising element and negotiating the terms of contract, involving relevant Board Members where appropriate. Following through with stewardship of Partners, building engagement with SNPC and ensuring they remain committed to our cause, and negotiating the terms for an extension of the Partnership contract. Ultimately, developing a pool of dedicated Partners, whose resources, financial and non-financial, we can draw on.

  • Games Operations

Liaise with international sports federations and National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) on international competitions to facilitate and further develop Singapore Para athletes. Developing games selection policies and providing technical expertise to the various National Disability Sports Associations (NDSAs) in Singapore to enhance their competency and capability. S/he has to evaluate the athletes’ successes at Major Games and help the various NDSAs to enhance their training programme and strategise their participation in international competitions.

  • Daily Operations

Coverage of day-to-day running of the office, with oversight of the book-keeping function, secretariat function for board meetings and the AGM and presentation of Financial Statements to the Board.

 

Experience and Requirements:

  • Dynamic and passionate about making an impact on our athletes’ sporting careers, and on the perceptions of disability sports by the general public
  • A keen interest and active participation in sports will be advantageous
  • Self-driven, analytical and partnership-driven, preferably with experience in partnership development and fundraising
  • Demonstrate integrity, accountability and results-driven work style
  • Exceptional ability to identify strategic opportunities and emerging issues
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills 
  • Excellent time management skills 
  • Ability to travel internationally as required
  • At least 5 years or more in a senior management position, preferably in a non-profit organisation 

Job Position:              Sports & Admin Executive

Reporting to:             Secretary General

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Partnership Development

Assist the Secretary General in managing our Partner Relationships and developing new Partnerships and Sponsors. The role involves identifying Partners which share the same agenda as SNPC, co-creating an activation plan and negotiating the terms of contract, involving relevant Board Members where appropriate. Following through with stewardship of Partners, building their sense of engagement with SNPC and ensuring they remain committed to our cause, and negotiating the terms for an extension of the Partnership contract. Ultimately, developing a pool of dedicated Partners, whose resources, financial and non-financial, we can draw on.

  • Event Management

Ideation of innovative events to achieve the aims of Paralympic outreach and education, while maintaining a fundraising element. These ideas can draw from our Partners’ businesses and resources. The events can target different demographics, activity or other criteria, each event offering a different wow factor for an enthusiastic and successful outcome. Responsible for concept origination and budgeting, and through-the-line management of the event, involving key external parties where appropriate involving Guests of Honour to officiate, Partners/Sponsors and Media. And developing creative strategies on human resources covering recruitment and management of volunteers (including partner volunteers) and contractors.

  • Games Operations

Liaise with international sports federations and National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) on international competitions to facilitate and further develop Singapore Para athletes. Through the line contribution, from assisting the selection committee to liaising with organizers of international meets, pulling together a contingent of athletes and sports officials as well as secretariat staff, coordinating pre-games training and briefings for athletes, officials and volunteers, ensuring all pre-requisites are met, coordinating the administrative and logistics for the Games, insurance, security, secretariat support during the Games, post-games analysis, awards event and media queries.  

  • Daily Operations

Coverage of day-to-day running of the office, assist the Secretary General in the book-keeping and secretariat function for board meetings and presentation of Financial Statements to the Board.

 

Experience and Requirements:

  • Dynamic and passionate about making an impact on our athletes’ sporting careers, and on the perceptions of disability sports by the general public
  • A keen interest and active participation in sports will be advantageous
  • Project management/ event management / business operations, marketing / sales experience preferred
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate integrity, accountability and results-driven work style
  • Ability to travel internationally as required
  • Experience in using Xero accounting software is preferred
